Please note: The optimum image width to upload to the website is 768 pixels
This will result in smaller file size so that the website will load more quickly.
About Images:
Images can be used in your pages or your posts.
Note* Images must be web optimised to avoid future problems with bandwidth.
WordPress has a maximum 2MB upload limit.
Inserting a new image when Editing/Creating a Post or Page:
- Create a new ‘Posts‘ / ‘Pages‘ or open an existing Post / Page in editing mode.
- Click your cursor on the location within the text box that you would like the image to appear in the Post / Page, once this is done click the ‘Add Media’ button located directly above the text box.
- Choose the ‘Upload Files’ tab.
- Click ‘Select Files’ to choose an image from your computer to upload.
Inserting a previously used image when Editing/Creating a Post or Page:
- Create a new ‘Posts‘ / ‘Pages‘ or open an existing Post / Page in editing mode.
- Click your cursor on the location within the text box that you would like the image to appear in the Post / Page, once this is done click the ‘Add Media’ button located directly above the text box.
- Choose the ‘Media Library’ tab.
- Click on the desired image.
- Click ‘Insert into post/page’ button located in the bottom right hand corner of the window.
Once the uploading/crunching process has completed, you will be given the option to edit some settings before inserting the image into the post/page.
Title:
Text displayed as a tooltip (when a mouse is hovered over the image)
Caption:
Image caption displayed directly underneath the image (will also serve as the alternate text.)
Description:
Text displayed with the image in your dashboard and attachment pages on your blog.
Link URL / Link Image to:
The URL/web address to which the image will be linked.
Click the File URL button to link the image to its original, full-size version.
Click the Post URL button to have the image linked to its attachment page.
Alignment:
The position of the image within your post or page.
Size:
The size of the image. Click the ‘Edit Image‘ button beneath the image preview to rotate, flip, scale, or crop the image.
When editing the image it is important to remember that increasing the size of the image will cause the image to become pixellated.
Click ‘Insert into Post‘ when you’re done adjusting the image’s settings.
